Overview

Baby Cry Watch ("the App") is designed to detect baby cries using your device's microphone and send alerts to your Apple Watch. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Information We Collect

Audio Data

The App uses your device's microphone to listen for baby cries.

Processing: All audio is analyzed locally on your device using on-device machine learning
Storage: Audio is never recorded, stored, or saved
Transmission: Audio data never leaves your device

Analytics Data

We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data to improve the App:

Device Identifiers

Firebase Analytics uses a resettable device identifier (IDFV) for analytics purposes. This identifier cannot be used to identify you personally, is not shared with third parties for advertising, and can be reset by uninstalling the App.

How We Use Information

We use collected analytics data solely to:

Improve App Performance - Identify and fix bugs, crashes, and performance issues
Understand Usage Patterns - Learn which features are most valuable to users
Optimize Onboarding - Improve the first-time user experience

We do not use your data for advertising, selling to third parties, building user profiles, or tracking across apps.

Permissions

Microphone Access

Purpose: Listen for baby cries to send alerts
Usage: Audio is processed in real-time and immediately discarded
Control: You can revoke access anytime in Settings → Privacy → Microphone

Notifications

Purpose: Alert you when a cry is detected
Control: Manage in Settings → Notifications → Baby Cry Watch

Apple Watch

Purpose: Receive cry alerts on your wrist
Data Shared: Only alert notifications (cry detected, confidence level)
No Audio: Audio never transfers to Apple Watch

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.

Service Providers

We use Firebase Analytics (Google) for anonymous app analytics. Firebase Analytics data is aggregated, anonymized, not used for advertising, and not linked to your identity. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

Audio Data: Never stored (processed in real-time only)
Analytics Data: Retained by Firebase for up to 14 months, then automatically deleted
Local Preferences: Stored on your device only, deleted when you uninstall

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your information:

All analytics data transmitted using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
Audio processing occurs entirely on-device with no network transmission
No sensitive personal data is collected or stored

Children's Privacy

Baby Cry Watch is designed to help parents monitor their babies. The App does not collect personal information from children, does not require account creation, and monitors audio in the environment, not from individuals. Parents and guardians control all App settings and permissions.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Opt-out of Analytics: Disable analytics by uninstalling the App
Access Device Permissions: Review and revoke permissions in iOS Settings
Delete Local Data: Uninstall the App to remove all local data
Reset Device Identifier: Uninstall and reinstall to reset the analytics identifier

International Users

Analytics data may be processed in the United States by Google (Firebase). For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on legitimate interests for basic analytics and your continued use of the App as consent.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
